not at all bad
Given that this is a DVD/R, I wasn't expecting a crystal clear transfer, and so I was not disappointed. In all honesty, picture quality was not bad. Audio was pretty good, too. As for the feature itself, I'm absolutely thrilled to have it. I have been trying to get a copy of this that wasn't unwatchable due to questionable nth generation transfer and I'm very satisfied with this one. As per the usual, the original Japanese version of the film is superior, but this Americanised version was actually pretty clever in its execution, bringing it full circle with the original 'Godzilla/Gojira' by having Raymond Burr reprise his role as Steve Martin. I'm also pleased with the extras included in this set, because that was something I never expected. I always figured I'd be settling for a blurry movie and nothing else, but this not only has an acceptable - not great, 'acceptable' - copy of the movie and a disc of extras to go with it. Not the Godzilla of 1985
If you were hoping this would be the Amercanized version its not, the language dubbing was ok but captions keep popping up and was hard to eliminate. Much of the DVD looked and played like it was a bootleg copy and either the studio should issue a better version or withdraw this until they do.....Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Godzilla 1985 staring Raymond burr
After watching the film and going over the special features, I’m pretty satisfied with my purchase. I found the film just as entertaining as the original Japanese version if not even more. My only complaint about the dvd is that subtitles don’t appear during certain parts of the movie. If you’re a Godzilla fan and would like to own Godzilla 1985 for a good price then I’d say get yourself a copy.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Not my favorite Godzilla moive but definitely worth watching

The Best of Godzilla!.. Say What?
The CLARITY of the film is a bit high on contrast..but a simple adjustment clears it right up and then the movie just POPS! The Defination is crisp and the Blacks are not just a blur (remember you may have to adjust the contrast) The quality of the sound track is clear and sharp And GODZILLA THAT ROARING SCREAM!! NEVER sounded so good. OBVIOUSLY ALL of the Old Godzilla fans understand that even though the English is done well and the typical dialogue dubbed in is ok and is the typical terrified end of civilization they no it. Because its All classic GODZILLA!!And anything else would be disappointing to those of us who know Our GODZILLA Best. This DVD came in a heavy duty black case. Simply awesome and amazing
