David Gilmour and Nick Mason went back and completed previously unreleased material recorded with the late Rick Wright. Gilmour began work on this project by returning to some 20 hours of leftover material plus material recorded with Pink Floyd touring musicians Guy Pratt on bass, Jon Carin on keyboards and Gary Wallis on percussion. A portion of these original recordings became THE DIVISION BELL, while the rest remained in the vaults. The album was co-produced with Phil Manzanera, Youth and Andy Jackson.

    the last pink floyd ablum

this is where band left of with freedom bell as much of the material is from that period; it's also the last recording with their original keyboard player, Richard Wright as he passed away many months back, only David Gilmour and drummer, nick Mason are still alive so it unlikely there can ever be another Floyd recoding. all the material was written by David Gilmour and Richard Wright. some of the additional musicians are ones that back more recent David Gilmour recordings. Folks, this is typical Pink Floyd, meaning sit back with your favorite smoke and enjoy!

    Terrible product

The box set had a bad odor, a musty smell. And the box had small orange spots inside and outside. Not sure, but it might have been mold. I kept the disc but threw the rest in the garbage.

  • "The End of the River"

Every band has its' 1st. & last album & this is "Pink Floyds" last. It can be purchased far below original listed price @ this time so grab a copy while they are still out there & if nothing else grab a copy of "Piper" & tuck them away for a Rainy Day" ! Been doing that "Floyd" thing since 1973 ! ! ! Respectfully , "Old Pink"

  • Worst Pink Floyd Ever

Excellent package and booklet but the music is definitely not anything that you have heard from Pink Floyd. A fan since Ummagumma, 1970. “The Final Cut” was their worst, mostly a Roger Waters album until this release. I still listen to Floyd but this will have to stay inside it’s nicely packed box with its nice hard bound book until it’s the last piece of music to listen to.

  • Perfect Farewell Gift to Fans

Floyd had been sitting on the "Division Bell" sessions for decades and fans never really expected to ever get to hear them. It does appear to be a tribute to Rick Wright. Mason and Gilmour freely admit that putting "Endless River" together was a huge frustrating effort, and it certainly was worth the wait. Almost entirely an instrumental flowing piece reflecting different sounds the band had used in their career. I already had the CD but bought the DVD version for the video footage and extra songs. The sound quality is astounding. A "must have" for anyone that appreciates Pink Floyd.

  • Most excellent Pink Floyd collectable boxed set.

Fantastic enjoyed it a lot. I really like the CD and the DVD adds visual content mixed in wonderful Dolby surround sound. The postcards and the booklet are well done and all packaged in a custom box. This is destined to be a collectors item someday and a "must-have" for any Pink Floyd fan. Very happy that I got it!

  • The next Pink Floyd

I have loved the music more than words. I Especially after Mr. Waters took over and everything for next two albums were about his life. Just a little to deep but the music was good. This album pointed out how much the keyboard was important to the band. They will always be ahead of their time.

  • Not for everyone, but has bits and pieces of past Floyd songs. Songs tend to run together but I found very interesting and enjoyed
