I love this CD. I have been a fan of Joni since I started to learn to play her early songs in 1970. With this particular album she evolves through sharing her talent and poetry with words and music. With this album, she embarks on a continuous journey of self-expression through the addition of different musical instruments. I feel like I have grown along with her as we both investigate our love of song.

  • Great vocals by Joni.

Very good instrumental playing. Great voice (Joni). Songs are interesting, but unusual. More sort of like stream of consciousness style. But certainly worth giving it a listen.

  • Get this one!

Terrific album - not as commercial as Court and Spark, and a step into work with a new set of musicians leaning more to jazz.

  • pay attention to what you order if you care about sound quality

Not sure which one your asking me to review. First one I ordered was the original 1980's issue (my mistake). I kept it but never opened it. Then I found a used copy of the HDCD remaster , great sound quality and one of Joni's best albums.
