One Is One And All Alone, Endeavour Morse Shall Be So!
Like many other folk, I sit down to watch "Endeavour" on TV on a Saturday night, but one episode a week is nowhere near enough, so this box set of the first five series is an absolute must! There are two episodes per DVD, and the discs come in a neat plastic box. There are a few extras, such as interviews with the actors, etc. The only criticism I have is that the episode titles are not printed on the discs so, if there's a particular one you wish to see, you'd have to look it up on imdb to check. That said, it's lovely to watch the episodes without the constant interruption of adverts, which breaks them down to about 90 minutes or so. Just make sure you switch off the doorbell and 'phone, get your favourite drink and a snack, and enjoy the nostalgia of 1960's Oxford!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Intelligent series, excellent period feel, believable characters
Out of a number of superb detective series - many of them period-set (Foyle's War, Inspector Gently, Grantchester) this stands out. Seann Evans is not only an intelligent actor, in the mould of Michael Caine, but handsome and with interesting, mobile features. Roger Allam's character Inspector Thursday, is multi-layered and - as always - superbly acted. Generally, the plots bear scrutiny. This is heresy, I know, but both Lewis and Endeavour are as good as, if not better than, Morse.
