    A brilliantly written, and cast, US crime drama about a novelist who assists the police with their inquiries.

    I already loved Castle from watching it on TV, but had missed a few of the early episodes, and the later series, so had to buy the DVD box set. It has not disappointed. The chemistry between the two main characters makes the show. Rick Castle looks at crime solving from the angle of a crime novelist, whereas Kate Beckett is the police detective trying to keep Castle in line, which can be quite difficult for her and funny for the viewer. Rick lives with his theatrical, dramatic and eccentric mother, and his daughter, who is still in High School in the early series. Buying all 7 series as a box set reduces the cost of each season by around £4 per series. Very good value for money.

    The best detective series

    The chemistry between Beckett and Castle is lovely and makes me smile. Love it. And it is really interesting how riotously amusing murder investigation can be (when you think it over, it is not, but this serial does it).
