The Lancers went AWOL!
I must admit this Italian Medieval 'pot boiler ' intrigued me with its title. Basically I'd never heard of it. Mel Ferrer is the hero in this entertaining slab of Russian / Polish timescale which resembles John Wayne's 'The Conqueror ' in more ways than one. Unfortunately there is no charge of the 'Black Lancers ' & scant reference to them either. There is a battle staged at the end which is somewhat confused. The DVD release is in its widescreen presentation with adequate colour resolution. Overall an entertaining romp through European history much forgotten.
