    Not for ALL New Beetles - my '02 needed different size

    Although listed as a direct replacement for a VW New Beetle, this lock's outer plastic cover was oversize (too tall) for my '02 New Beetle. With a bit of fiddling I was however able to replace it with the original lock's cover, and get it to fit. Not ideal, but once sorted with the old lock's plastic jacket it fitted and worked fine.

    As Described - Great.

    We had an issue with the boot of our VW polo 2006 and the part needed replacing. It wouldn't shut properly as the plastic holding the spring inside the original latch had snapped off. No issues after swapping it out with this, boot now works perfectly and the boot open indicator light on the dashboard is no longer stuck on all the time.
