No. 46243 ‘City of Lancaster’ was originally numbered 6243 under LMS. Under BR nationalisation, it was renumbered as 46243 in April 1948. ‘City of Lancaster’ was withdrawn from service in September 1964 and cut up by Central Wagon Co in Ince, Wigan, in August 1965.
