Spend a little more and buy good quality, it'll work out cheaper in the long run.

Over the years I've always stayed away from named products like Makita, Dewalt and other big named tools due to the excess they charge for there products. I came across a Makita 18v drill some years ago and it was well used when I obtained it. A couple of new batteries later and I carried on using it in places I didn't really fancy using a power drill in the event that drill snagged and twisted the power drill out of my hand like if I'm up a ladder. That actual drill died it's death about 2yrs ago but not before I had the chance to buy another two cordless hammer/drill/screw driver units and then eventually a Makita jigsaw and circular saw. I was so impressed with the old Makita drill/driver that I decided at that point to invest into future Makita gear for whatever job I required it to do. I've had/owned/used and killed cheaper power tools and I've come to the conclusion over the years that cheap tools, specially those that require power of some sort are cheap for a reason. They don't last or the product is updated in such a way that you cannot get parts for which means you have to throw it away and buy another cheap power tool. I've owned this Makita Jigsaw now for at least two years if not longer now. i did pay more than I would have liked to have done but even to this day and even tough it doesn't get used that much it's still like new. At the end of the day it's just a jigsaw and maybe to some people an over inflated priced jigsaw but to me it's a nicely priced jigsaw that if it breaks down at all I'm able to get it serviced at a Makita service centre or I've able to get hold of parts on the internet to do it myself. I love the Makita brand but I'm also warming to the Dewalt brand as well as I have some of there gear too. Would I recommend it? Yes without a doubt, but only if you want to spend that little extra for quality as appose to cheap. Is it good value? It was at the time I bought it. I would recommend shopping around either here on eBay as sellers will offer this item cheaper than other sellers. Is it good quality? The only thing I've needed to replace so far have been the blades.

  • Makita 4329 jigsaw

Great bit off kit. Pendulum function makes cutting through thicker pieces of material a doddle. Only bad point is having to use an Allen key to change blades, although the unit houses the key on its rear.

  • quality build

very good product build quality item feels solid the blade that was supplied with it a bit weak as it bent out of shape under a bit of pressure but machine very good

  • good quality

Good quality product but be aware you need an Allen key to change the blades which is time consuming. Other brands have click in systems.
