Affordable, Good-Quality Boombox
So far, so good with this boombox, although I haven't yet checked out the cassette player. Both the CD function and the radio seem to work just fine -- pretty decent FM Radio reception -- and the sound is good, especially with the 'bass boost' button. One complaint is that LCD display that tells you what function you're using and what radio station you're listening to can be very difficult to see if you have it at eye level (as I do, on top of a chest of drawers). I was shocked at the smallness of this unit. It was much smaller than I had expected. The LED display does not show up. It is very hard to read. Sometimes I can only make out a partial display and guess or use the manual to determine the mode I am currently on. I would not recommend or purchase this unit again. Not completely happy.
How would I know if it's durable, since I've only had it a couple weeks. The panel that is lit when it's turned ON is way too bright -- I bought this to play gentle music to fall asleep to, and the damn panel lights up the whole bedroom. The mode-selection panel (same one as ON) shows AUX, an FM frequency, an AM frequency, -- (which turns out to be the CD mode, and a 3-character display of ?AP -- the ? looks like a capital E without the top horizontal line. I would expect a better product for $50, and wish I had had the opportunity to examine it at a store before I'd bought it --- I wouldn't have bought it. See if you can find a product built in Japan if you want some quality for your money.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good Deal For The Price
The sound lacks fullness in the bass but for a small room it's sufficient. One con is that when you push the play button for the cassette player you have to push really hard or else the play function won't engage. If you aren't holding on to the unit you may push it clear off the stand you have it sitting on so be careful. If the unit is setting against a wall you won't have to worry. more wire please
It`s a great deal for the money some how I thought it would be larger . When, the wind doesn't blow the channel signal away. It, sounds great. Even, like the old school bass thump. You, before every one went to amplifiers to amplifier the bass. I really do like it.
