The old damper was very easy to remove and replace. But for a spacer bush, it would have taken only minutes to fit.
The old damper was very easy to remove. Just remove it's two mounting bolts (Which was also aided by the lack of pressure in the damper!). However it's replacement was more difficult, mainly because cylinder end bush is different on the replacement. The original had a central bush with an offset spacer built in. So we had to create a new spacer peice, by sawing off the required spacing piece from the old bush.) This was then slid over the mounting bolt, along with the new damper. There are other ways to resolve this, but this one worked for us. But it did add extra time to what would have been a very quick repair, otherwise, which would have been saved had a spacer been included with the new damper. Which is why one star was deducted. However, it was very worth the effort! The trailers braking is now properly controlled and smooth and the snatching has disappeared completely! Making the outfit work as it alway should. Good value and seems to be good quality.
Fitted and working in a few minutes. First I had to remove the spacer bush from the old damper and using a vice, I pressed it into the rubber bush on the new damper. Took about 5 minutes.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Spacer swap
