  • The elusive Portia

I love the "Hair to There" OG dolls (except for the platinum blonde one with the brown eyes) I have Parker, who is stunning; I also have Peyton with the bright red hair. Both dolls are fun and I adore their long hair. When I saw Portia at our local Target right before Christmas I resisted the impulse to grab her, figuring she was a new release. Later on, I decided I had to have her, so I went back to Target to find her gone (along with all the other OGs---sold out!) I searched for Portia on the Target website and the results showed no availability within 100 miles of my location. I left a question about her on the Target site and got a response the next day from Target corporate headquarters, telling me that Portia had been discontinued and would no longer be available. So, I went to EBay and lo and behold, there she was, at the same low price she had been selling for at the store--posted as a Buy It Now by none other than Target! I couldn't believe it. I bought her, of course --and she is the prettiest one of the three. Her hair is scrumptious and her eyes are beautiful. I don't like the plastic shoes, but the market for 18" doll shoes has really dried up; even American Girl dolls are being sold with those types of shoes now. I'm curious--is it common for stores to pull soon-to-be-discontinued merch and put it on EBay to get rid of it? If so, I lucked out, because I suspect she'll become rare, hard to find and expensive on the secondary market once the EBay Portias are gone.

  • Beautiful doll

My daughter loves dolls with long hair so this was a great find for her. The box was not in great shape--as described--but the doll was in perfect condition.
