Just one big flaw
Fairly straightforward to set up, and works surprisingly well on my aircon and home theatre. However, there are two things that knock off a couple of stars. First is that a service has to be running to connect to the device, and that must be on (in my case) an Android phone and running all the time. If I'm not home it doesn't work, and timed commands are useless. I got around this by installing Android on a VM on a server I have running at home and that does the job nicely. The other problem is when learning IR commands there is only five seconds to get from your phone to pick up the remote you are trying to learn, point it at the top of the Black Bean and press the right buttons. When you get there in time it works well, but with the Black Bean installed up high it can be quite difficult and very annoying. It really needs two people.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

neat device
handy to have. the broadlink app is garbage (doesn't work on my phone) but there is a tasker plugin for android that lets you connect this with alexa to control any IR stuff. Worth it, but the pro is worth the extra few bucks more.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great little device. Nice look, easy to configure. I am using it for AC control and it worked every time.
