Charming book with real substance
This is a charming, true story to explain the appreciation of hand work, traditions,history of immigration, family values in love and marriage and valuing children through life’s stresses, and symbolism. It is clearly written with exposition, middle, climax, denouement, and the sweetest outcome. The illustrations are colorful and appropriate. Actually, people of all ages love this. I’ve told several adults from 30s to 90s about this charming book and they were very interested. I made a baby boy day gown with the last piece of ecru tatting lace my mother made and I found when cleaning out her house, 26 years ago and saved all these years. I plan to give the book for the two older sisters ( ages 3 and 5) to go with the day gown as a gift to my nephew and his wife. It completes the a “family gift” beautifully to teach appreciation and provide shared memories.Read full review
