Exciting, enlightening, and educational
This book overwhelmed me with its characters, timing and plot. Since the book was so compelling, I loaned it to many family members to read -- my husband, my daughter-in-law, three granddaughters and a grandson. They all LOVED it! With the time setting during World War II, I was reminded of the hardships during that time by looking through the eyes of a young, uneducated girl.
