Excellent camera
The field of view of this camera is quite wide at 80 degrees, so don't expect to get good recognition of faces more than about 15 to 20 feet away. It is ideal to mount above a door, under a porch, or similar locations. There is no lens hood, so sunlight on the camera can be an issue (no different to other dome cameras in that regard). Like the NHD-818, there is no cable junction box provided. If mounted outdoors a junction box is needed to keep rain off the connections. Also note the Cat5 network cable supplied is not outdoor grade, for installations where the cable run is exposed to the weather you will need to purchase outdoor grade cable separately. The infrared filter for daylight viewing moves out of the optical path in low light, giving optimum visibility for both day and night use... you can hear it "click" by covering the camera. Be careful with the self tapping screw securing the dome cover, it's easy to drop it when fitting the camera.
