Great size kit to construct
The Revell 1:96 Scale Cutty Sark is a definite must have for any model enthusiast. At skill Level 5 she is a lovely kit to build. A lot of patients will be needed to construct a realistic and beautiful end product. Pros. Supplied by Revell in a very large box and is packaged compact and secure. Parts come in four colours - (1) Hull and preformed rat lines - Black. (2) Deck, blocks, life boats etc - Brown. (3) Cabins, rails etc - White. (4) Sails - Cream (off White). I found that the parts fitted together very well with minimal need for cleaning edges. Cons. The rigging thread supplied is a bit thin and it would be wise to purchase a thicker gauge in Cream and Black alike. The most unfortunate thing about this particular kit is that the 20 crew members supplied are from the Revell 1:96 Spanish Gallion and therefore cannot be used as crew. Earlier kit reproductions have the correct crew members, so would be wise to source either the earlier kit or try to source the crew. I was lucky to find a full set on ebay. All said and done this is a lovely kit to build and she will make a beautiful finished model.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

I've seen this model ship built by other model makers and it looked very impressive.. I haven't started this one yet so I cant give a good account . Hopefully when I do I will be pleased with the end result. One thing for sure . Is it will be a big project and will probably take many hours of work .
