Succinct and to the point.
Having read the Biography about SOE's heroine Nancy Wake, I was just in awe of such a brave, focused and exuberant lady who came to be in charge of 7000 Maquis during WW11 and was pivotal in the success of the Allied Forces in France. I couldn't wait to hear Nancy's side of the story and the extra detail was fascinating, showing humility, compassion and a steely side of a woman who, even living in the woods where they were attacked regularly by the Germans, wore a satin nightie to bed. I loved every page and found the book enthralling. I would highly recommend it. We owe our freedom to such brave people like Nancy whose lives should never be forgotten and regularly celebrated.
