surface hardening is very thin
I only recommend because it's better than nothing. I had a small piece, 1"x 3/4"x 1/8" After three times per instructions the surface was better, but a file would still mark it without much trouble. Like most things anymore. They are not made like they were years ago when regulations were more lax.
