  • Great reference book for a novice Midwestern forager

This book seems like a pretty comprehensive listing of edible and palatable plants in the Midwest, and is going to be very helpful as a starting point. It would have made it a thick volume, but I would have liked more information and ideas on how to process/use the various plants. However, that's what Google is for I guess.

  • Informative

Great to learn about foraging. Nice pictures & informative subtitles on each plant: how to identify, where & when to gather, how to gather, how to eat & future harvests. Excellent book for the beginner or more advanced.

  • Survival chow

A very good over view of the edible plants of the mid-west. I just wish it had more recipes for the plants. Know what plants to eat is all goood and well but ya should have a hand full of tasty ways to fix each of them.
