ReviewsBook review by Noel Tyl There's a magic within Solar Ingress charts, when the Sun enters zero-Cardinal Signs to signal the four seasons of the year; there's a magic within the tight timing mechanism of Lunar phase charts within the Ingress time span; and there's a magic in the way astrologer Kris Brandt Riske manages this backdrop with common sensical planetary guidelines adapted to prediction of the weather. Riske dramatically reaffirms the vitally important role of the Angles in these horoscopes--over 70 of them, beautifully organized!--and rides the winds over droughts and floods, through rain, sleet, and snow, into hurricane eyes and tornado funnels, with a laser focus as to where and when heavy weather will actually occur. It's not ponderously difficult, thanks to Riske, but the process requires extensive practice. You keep a record of your weather predictions for a specific locale; you grade yourself against actual occurrence; and, on a good day, you can leave routine forecasters in the dust! Riske says very strongly throughout her treatise that planets do not cause the weather, but instead, they reflect weather conditions. This sets up a frame of mind that is high in common sense; we are assessing parts within the whole, with all considerations working together. Even astrological techniques of measuring aspects are simplified and made crystal clear: the key is "contact" by planets with the Midheaven and Ascendant axes in the Ingress and Lunar phase charts. It's uncanny how we easily spot in those charts the contacts that reflect weather conditions; you readily understand that "a tornado rarely, if ever, results without Mercury or Mars in hard aspect to Uranus and Neptune, and a hard aspect to Pluto, planet of high wind," all related to the critical Angles--You know that; and now you can locate those conditions in the horoscope and time them for the Blizzard of 1888 or hurricanes yet to come! Astrologers have long known that Ingress charts dramatically reflect the political climate of our peoples and times on Earth. And now we see their role in mapping weather events of conspicuous impact on our lives. I am delighted with this book; it's long been needed in our astrology world. Riske is an expert; she has provided a welcome storm of information to illuminate the heretofore unexplained astrometeorology of our planet.
