Not a feature film.
I've read the Spenser books through twice and didn't have an urge to see these series at all; A thrift item included the later TV movie of Pale Kings, and that gave me an interest in these actors. Still it insists that, while people love Tom Selleck as Jesse Stone, chief of police, that character is younger and more vulnerable to life in a way that Urlich would be better suited for, and the rougher and more experienced Selleck as Spenser, instead. That would be a movie comment; yet the character and chemistry of this TV series is superb, and tweaking with the contents would not help. For a very strong instance there is no character, that includes you Frank Belson, who seems added on as a studio imposition. Surely, Belson is adapted from the books and provides more comic relief making smart aleck remarks and chomping junk food rather than being a flatter man of integrity who smokes the cheapest, known cigars.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

I watched this show years ago on tv; and, found it thoroughly enjoyable. The characters wormed their way into my heart right from the start; and there was always a lot of action and interplay between the stars.
