Good zoom & GPS is what I bought it for. Not disappointed
I would personally not bother with an actual camera, were it not for the impressive zoom that phones and tablets cannot yet currently replicate. The quality is excellent but so is my iPhone. The big advantage of a camera like that is good low-light results and powerful zoom. I also like the fact that's is got GPS to be able later to pinpoint on Google map or Apple map where I've been. the only thing about this awesome piece of kit i find disappointing is that this camera does not shoot in RAW.. everything else is superb!! the size the look and the zoom .. Ohhh the zoom is fantastic !! if you are a wildlife person like myself then this would be an excellent addition to your kit (dont just take my word for it!!,just check out the vids on the internet showing the awesome zoom quality) i own a nikon and since i have bought this camera .. i have not touched it .. one word ....AMAZING !!Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Remarakable camera
I already had a Sony HX50 which is 30X Optical enlargement (which is great) I bought this 400V camera because of the 50x Optical enlargement to avoid a bag of lenses. The camera is great - not as small as I thought - but great. I now have to buy the bibs & bobs that go with the camera such as strap/case/charger, not expensive each but when added together not cheap. I got the camera well under todays value so addon's are an essential cost. this is the best all round camera for professional or armature photographers because of the amazing zoom sharp even at full digital zoom plus the outstanding Carl Zeiss lens make shore you get the HX400 V ,the menu needs getting used to but it has a built in help for when you change settings ,If you want to just shoot perfect pictures every time select the IA mode and the camera does it all for you , if however you like to experiment there are plenty of modes to play with ,also first class movie mode . This is the "V" version!
I'm not going to review the camera as it has been extensively reviewed all over the internet. The fact that it is a model that has been around for more than 2 years in today's constantly evolving market speaks volumes. A recent price drop from over £400 to around £300 indicates there might be a new model along soon but if this camera was a good one last week it won't be a bad one next week! I bought this camera from the Argos store on Ebay because after research and enquiry the DSC HX400 advertised was actually the DSC HX400V model. The difference is the inclusion of GPS which you may not use or need but which might improve its resale value when you ultimately come to upgrade! On the main Argos website the HX400V model is at least £30 more expensive! On the Argos Ebay store the HX400V is not listed but it's the one I got by ordering the HX400 (and there was a 10% pre-Christmas discount!)Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

This camera far exceeded my expectations. the images are perfect every time. They are usable. I took the pic of the moon at 1200mm hand held and it was spot on. On the negative it is cheap plastic and marks very easily and the build quality with Sony name just doesn't sit right with me. Sony H400 best Bridge camera for new starters
