Great phone, but lacks apps, main ones like banking are there whatsapp, facebook and messenger, things like sky remote aren't but have a third party ones of which cost 79p to fully use,ebay isn't there, but have booked marked the page and you can paste it on your screen and it dosen't use as much memory. (plus point perhaps) It is fast dose'nt seem to need anti virus software, thats one of the reason I wanted to try to windows, android seems to daily be updating and full of ads!!! which is annoying! A definite plus is one drive, you can take photo's make notes etc and it is transferred to your win 10 computer also your contacts etc. thus having a backup! The phone I received being faulty, The Store apps did not down load correctly without showing a fault and the camera did not work. The phone did not function. This was a gift for my daughter. love this phone
I am a 50+ lady and a total technophobe. I love this phone. I find it really easy to use. No weird stuff. I have been able to download apps (get me!) and use it a lot for internet when I'm out and about. Hubby has had to do a few things for me, but not much. My favourite Lumia by far!
The camera is great, perfect for my photography needs when I can't carry my camera around. Front camera mutes colours but is a lot better quality than my previous phone. Windows 10 doesn't have all the kinks straightened out yet so there are still error messages sometimes but otherwise runs smoothly once you've updated to it. The phone is quite hardy and will last a long time, especially if you have a phone case. The screen doesn't scratch easily and for someone who drops my phone all the time, the screen only cracked after I had dropped it atleast once a week during the two years I'd had it and that had only happened because my case was broken so it kept falling out. The speaker is good and plays music well. The brightness and colour profile is fully customizable which is a godsend as bright screens set off my Migraines. Snapchat isn't available on it which at first I was disappointed about but perhaps that was a good thing. There are apps you can't delete that I have no use for so that's a little annoying, not the end of the world though. Overall, I love my Lumia and even when it did break, I chose to get another of the same rather than a different one. (I'm in love with the look of the camera, it reminds me of an astronaut. Has SD card -- and upgrades to Windows 10
Found Windows (originally W 8.1) to be fast and responsive which was a surprise to me. Screens are very responsive and may be 'battered around' without any 'jumps' or 'sticks'. Beautiful looking phone in every way. Using the 'upgrade advisor ' app, it not only upgrades to Windows 10 -- but incredibly -- it actually upgrades the firmware itself, so that on subsequent 'factory resets', either by menu or 'hard button sequence', it comes back to Windows 10 directly. That is simply fabulous. Everything is then even better of course. I have also bought a very cheap wireless charger and found the intrinsic wireless charging works extremely well. Not only that -- having bought a 'black one', I have purchased, for a few pounds, a 'green back', which also has the wireless charger pad on it -- and found that to be utterly reliable too. I have a 64GB SD in mine (I think it takes up to 256GB), up-firmwared to Windows 10, and absolutely love it.
