    not top quality, but usable with small 'enhancement'

    After reading previous reviews of the joints breaking on these cheap rods when stressed, I decided to tightly 'tape' each rod end where the rod and end meet with insulation tape. This helped to strengthen the joints and I was able to pull cables with no broken joints. Good value for DIY cable routing with my small 'enhancement'. The joints are tapered slightly so did not increase the width of the joints by taping them. Much cheaper solution than buying 'Super rods' !

    Not reliable. Fittings pull off too easily

    Used these to pull two tails and earth cable from back of room to front of room and into vestibule where the consumer unit is fixed to wall. 4 m in length through floor space. Worked realy well the first time and pulled first tail through. Then went back to pull second tail through and was nearly through when the brass fitting pulled off. Went to use a third time and brass fittings pulled off so lost all 4 sections in the floor space!! Brass fittings do not appear to be attached to the cable in a way that will withstand pulling!! Not good quality and not reliable. So would not recommend.

    Cheap and cheerful

    This is a cheap version. You can buy dearer. You pay your money and takes your chance. It’s up to you. A good quality version will cost £30. But for light use they are ok but they have alimited life. Don’t pull too hard or the ends come off. Hooks useful though

    Quality product for the price

    Used it to go up two floors inside a cavity wall through insulation. I lost two segments as they came away at the joint (my fault as I was using it very aggressively), I would recommend taping the joins as a backup. Completed the job. Quality product for the price.

    Versatile, good quality and excellent value.

    Excellent value for money, and a very versatile tool for cable pulling in awkward situations. My last two sets had slowly become one after breaking a few, but after 4 yrs use that’s pretty good going for a set at this price. I buy 2 at a time because they’re such good value and decent quality.

    Expect to only use half.

    As other reviewers have mentioned on these items, the brass ends are of very poor quality, first rod out and the end fell off, second rod seemed ok and when joined to the third out the pack seemed ok. After joining a total of 3 rods and going into the cavity, one of the brass ends snapped and I lost 2 rods. No good if you need to bend the rod.
