Great socket for narrow hub apertures
Compared to a regular impact socket the 6279 has a thinner wall - the body of the socket appears to have just been machined a few millimeters on the lower part of the skirt, as can be seen in the photos. This makes it a perfect size to fit Fiat and Alfa Romeo hub nuts, which are recessed inside the hub with no room for a normal impact socket (and it's practically impossible to find a non-impact socket this size). The socket fits the nut well (no rounding on even a slightly corroded hub nut). It also looks strong enough to be used in an impact gun but I used it "analogue" - i.e. a 3-foot extension bar - and it worked flawlessly. Great value... so not worth faffing around grinding down normal "fat" sockets etc. Much easier to buy one of these.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
