USB 3 Hard drive caddy.

Produces data transfer errors
The enclosure arrived in a nice cardboard box. It is easy so assemble and should be plug and play and all required components are included (short USB3 cable, enclosure, manual) The case is itself is simple plastic holds the disk well and assembly is tool less. The plastic doesn't distill much confidence and I'd expect that it cracks quickly in daily usage. Unfortunately on an USB3 host the disk is recognized but errors are encountered when the disk is used (device doesn't respond or resets). The disks tried were SSDs (Crucial and Samsung) and they work with an different SATA-USB3 adapter perfectly on the same host ports. For USB2 the result is worse because the disk isn't recognized by the host at all. Again the same disks with an different SATA-USB3 adapter work fine on the same USB port. So 2 stars because the adapter doesn't function but it would be a reasonable enclosure if it would work (maybe I'm just unlucky).Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Brilliant HDD Case
It's a wonderful case with high speed usb 3.0 connectivity that works for either regular hard drives or SSD disks. It is really easy to open and install hard disks inside this case as you do not need any screws or tools, instead you simply slide the top off and insert the disk. Purchased this for my 240gb SanDisk ssd drive and it fits perfectly. I'm mainly using it for my ps4 pro and I've also tried it on my Xbox one with no issues. Great performance and looks good
I had previously bought a cheaper hard drive enclosure which would short out with the cable supplied. It wasn't good for the job, and many hard drive enclosures cost over £10. Good value, but not reliable enough for long term use
This seemed to be OK initially, but after a while it starts to become unreliable. I found that the disk would become unresponsive for 20-30 seconds, and there were constant errors logged in the event viewer for this particular disk. However, the disk itself was perfectly fine. It seems that if you plug it in to a USB 2.0 port, the problems don't occur. But this isn't ideal considering it's got a USB 3.0 interface and you can't then utilise the higher transfer speeds. I should note that different disks, ports and cables made no difference, so clearly the problem lies with the controller/PCB in the caddy/enclosure.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Very Neat
I bought this after buying a black HDD enclosure for a similar price. This is far superior. For one, no tiny screws are needed (unlike the black enclosure), it’s far more aesthetically pleasing and its a much better build quality (the black enclosure fell apart - the small circuit board detached from the enclosure.
