Simple, quick and cost efficient way to test the water in your fish tank
This product is really simple to use - just dip the test strip into your water for a few seconds, take it out and hold for about 1 minute then compare the colors with the reading chart. Reading chart is on the side of the container. The nominal values for the important parameters are also clearly marked to help alerting about any possible problems. There is quite a lot of test strips included so it should last for some time. One thing to keep in mind is that the test is color based and therefore it should be conducted in white-light conditions, e.g. daylight or with cool-white LED lighting. Especially the ammonia test may be troublesome under typical warm-white light of incandescent bulb or warm-white energy efficient bulbs. The only drawback with the test - and it is a really small one at that - is the size of the packaging that will not fit most of the letter boxes forcing the buyer to pick the item up from depot if missed delivery. But that is true of many many products on the market today as the manufacturers do not seem to realize the need for small, flat packaging that is post-friendly.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Inaccurate and poor bang for the buck
Where do I begin? There are NOT 150 tests as shown in the picture but a mere 25 full range tests. The ammonia test is on a separate strip which could easily have been included with the other 'multi' test strips as it's exactly the same procedure. Seems they want you to use twice the amounf od strips that should be necessary so you need to replace them sooner. But after those points, the ammonia test is completely useless anyway as for me at least it shows a brown colour that isn't even on the comparison chart, which goes from yellow to various shades of green. Testing with a liquid test kit came up clear, as one would hope. Also, the pH test says 8+ when another brand of strip, a liquid test, and a pH meter all showed 7.5-7.6. Awful!
A well established live bearer community tank and a fry tank gave identical results that indicated the tanks had all successfully cycled. The fry tank had a brank new filter, gravel, only fresh tap water with dechlorinater in and had only been set up the day before. I then tested straight tap water which gave identical results as both tanks! No ammonia, no nitrites and 25-50 nitrates.
