Not a great design, not practical for impromptu photos.
The lens is of solid construction, but the contraption for attaching the lens to the camera is awkward to adjust properly. More disappointing is that, due to the design of the brace structure, the heavy lens pulls away from the camera and lets light in around the lens and that blows out the picture. The heavy weight of the lens also makes it difficult to use without a tripod to avoid shaking. That means this lens is only good for setting up and shooting an inanimate object. You definitely can't just whip it out and take a photo without minutes of setup/adjustment. The need for a tripod is is probably true of any similar lens, but the attachment feature is the real deal-breaker for this one.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not good
The scope itself has serious Chromatic Aberration, but focuses well. The phone clamp/adapter is a joke. I had to build my own to make the scope fit my iPhone 6+. For close range daytime use the CA isn’t terrible, but lunar views are horrid.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

cheap solution - has some issues
good cost to value. The lens is OK but have aberrations and a feeling of an old pirates telescope. Attaching the lens to the smartphone seems easy, however there is a precise location to mount the lens relative to the camera. the mount is not robust enough to maintain that position, which may make the all operation somewhat frustrating. Very bad tripod
The tripod is not big enough for the telescope. You are not able to get neither the tripod or phone to stay put, so basically useless unless of course you have very stable hands.
