Players can interact with more than 50 factions as they make their way across a map that spans from modern-day Iran to Portugal, and from Scotland to Northern Africa. The game was designed to be darker and more chaotic than previous entries in the series, with the new raze mechanic and the destructive power of fire letting gamers demolish cities, and new horde mechanics letting them uproot their entire settlement and set up camp elsewhere.<br><br>As always, the game allows players to take a wide view of the map while making tactical decisions, and then zoom in to see hundreds of individual soldiers clash in epic battles. The visuals were improved and the game features period-specific weapons, technologies, and cultures to give a more visceral and realistic sense of combat in the era. Total War: Attila also offers more options with regard to manipulating politics, family trees, civic management, and technological advancement. This special edition includes the full original game as well as a 64-page biography of Attila the Hun, a reference poster, and the Viking Forefathers Culture Pack, which offers three more playable factions.
