This is a really nice clock, it took a few days of fiddling with the adjuster on the pendulum to make it accurate, but this is time well spent ;-) At first was about 3 minutes fast per day, now it's about 10 seconds slow per day. Not at all bad, I'll carry on trying to get it better, but doubt if it can do much better. One thing to note though, the description says it is an "Antique Skeleton" clock. It is not, it is actually brand new, but that's what I wanted and expected. An antique collector might have been disappointed. The cast iron weight is painted black, some similar clocks have natural cast iron weight, which I think looks nicer. That's the really about the only thing I can criticise - a minor point.

I was bought one of these about 10 years ago as a present by my wife. Sadly it stopped working and as it was going to cost more to repair than replace it, I have bought a new one and sold the old one for repair in eBay. These clocks feel really well built and are very beautiful but be aware that as all of the works are exposed, over time dust will get into the works and may affect the operation. In my first clock the spring which holds the hammer for the chime back snapped and the whole thing just stopped working. Only time will tell if this is an inherent design flaw, but for that reason I have not given it 5 stars. They are quite accurate, very easy to set up and use. The mechanism will run for a week when the weight it raised.

Nice clock, easy to set up. Looks good and people like it when they see it. Nice old style but not pretending to be old. I like (and am fortunate to have some) old clocks and I like this too and it’s mechanical, not electric so it’s even better than just “good”.

If you like the gentle tick-tock of a mechanical clock, a subtle single chime at the hour, and the ease of just pulling the chain down to wind the weight up then this is the clock for you. Being able to see the cogs slowly performing their ratio-ed dance to turn the axles is a joy to behold, and gently adjusting the pendulum to get it keeping good time is all part of the fun of "real" (non-electronic quartz) clocks. I love it.

Pleasantly surprised, just what we wanted, I was worried it would be poor quality, but its picture does it justice. For the price a really excellent item, just make sure your expectations aren't focused on a £1000 antique and you won't be disappointed
