So I was looking for a very simple and cheap record cleaning system for a modest size record collection and after having read reviews on nearly every one out there, came to the conclusion that none were perfect and so may as well try the best looking for the money. To address some complaints from previous reviews. Yes the lip is poorly designed and it does spill some when emptying back into the bottle, however as I do all my cleaning on a large soft towel this makes no impact of difference to me at all...solved. Yes if you leave the soaking wet record in the rack to dry on its own you may get some streaks and will certainly get a rapid build up on your stylus next time you play it. My method for cleaning using this system. Rotate the record through the bath approx 5 times in each direction twice. lift record up (btw I have NEVER had the brushes lift out of place!) and hold until the majority of fluid has dripped back into the trough. Wipe the excess fluid from the vinyl surface with micro fiber cloths before removing the clamp, then after removal of clamp a quick wipe around label outer edge and place into the rack. Repeat ad infintum, by pre drying I get no streaks and minimal build up on the stlyus after playback. Is it worth it and does it work? Yes and emphaticaly yes! Surface noise is vastly reduced on my vinyl, obviously it cannot help badly scratched examples from the clicks and pops but even these have less noise. Do not buy more cleaning solution, make your own for pennies from the recipies to be found online! I am happy with it.

  • Nice system.

Very easy to use, if you throw away the instructions. Use your own recipe for the cleaning solution, fill the reservoir up to top of brushes, and spin. The label protectors are what sold me, and they work well. I used lint-free vinyl clothes to dry around the label protectors, then lightly dried the records before letting them air-dry in the rack. Worked well. Threw out the water after doing 10 records and am letting everything dry out. All good.

  • Excellent Product

This is a great product, does the job exceedingly well. I did not use the cleaning solution provided in the package, so no comments on that, but I used my own home brew solution and it does a great job. The drying rack is really convenient and a very good feature. Much better than Spin Clean which does not come with a label protector clamp and no drying rack as well. Don’t think twice, get this product.

  • It’s good but not amazing

I wish it was made with a better abs plastic. It’s very flimsy, the label coupler/protector is mediocrely tight when clamping down but good for vintage records with fragile labels. I haven’t had a leak through yet but I feel like it could break at any moment. The brushes are ok but it seems as if the metal Claps surrounding the fibers are already rusting without one use which is Unusual. Great design, compact and practical. Just a small amount of improvements would make it as robust as what it’s servicing. Records last forever, so should this and I don’t see it lasting more then 2 years or so with constant use. We’ll see how it handles 400 records with neglect since the 70’s. For now it’s ok.

  • Good record cleaner

Good design and ez to use. Do not use the cleaning solution that comes with it! The solution will ruin your records!!!! Making your own solution is highly recommended. Look up on the internet how to make record cleaning solution....it's very ez to do. Other than the cleaning solution....this is a very good device.

  • Vinyl styl record cleaner.

Really does a good job. I had a couple of old really dusty records that came out pristine and sounded very quiet. Old from the eighties and lucky, no scratches. It was surprising. I don't know how it compares with these other high priced cleaners but I'd definitely recommend this unit. Just a couple of small issues: 1). Need a spray bottle with distilled water for a better rinse after cleaning process. Appears to leave a slight film. Does not affect lp playback. 2) does a good job of protecting the album labels but some solution will get on the label if you don't take care to wipe around the seal really well after cleaning. You must wipe under a small lip around the edge of the center "clamp". I used a microfiber towel to carefully wipe the record before removing the clamp. 3) could have done a better job with the pour "spout". It doesn't pour back into the bottle very well. With all that said this product works as advertised and is self contained, all parts fit nicely in the body. One other thing to keep in mind, who says you have to use their cleaning solution. Make your own... Highly recommended, good luck.

  • Well worth the money!

This was my first record washer. I reviewed several before buying this one, but what sold me was the label cover and the fact it came with a record dryer stand. I have a small collection so far but it's growing somewhat. I found the worst record I had and did a before and after sound test. I was blown away by the sound after washing it with the Vinyl Styl! Almost all the pops and crackle noise was gone! It really does what it's supposed to do! And the label cover? I haven't had a wet label yet. I've gone through most of my albums so far and played a few as I go..the Vinyl Styl has done a great job of doing a more deep cleaning of them. It's a little time consuming as you can only clean one at a time but it's time well spent if you want a clean album. The cleaning fluid that came with it is good but I read reviews that advise one to cut it in half with distilled water..then add it to the unit. Seems like using it as directed, it can leave a film on the records that can build up on your stylus..so that's what I did. Also, I purchased a bottle of the Spin Clean record cleaning fluid to use after running out of the Vinyl Styl fluid. That seems to work very well too.

  • Perfect affordable vinyl washer

Simple easy to use record washer, pay attention to how hard you tighten the plastic discs that hold the albums they feel like they could be damaged if you were to get heavy handed. It comes with everything you need including the solution but it's a small bottle and you will need to strain and reuse fluid over and over or invest in a huge bottle to save time and effort. All in all a great bargain because a clean record is the life of the cartridge (needle) of your turntable. The seller shipped very fast and packaged it well pleasing transaction.

  • Vinyl Styl Deep Groove Record Washer

I recently upgraded my turntable to a Project X2 and I had bought used records that I wanted to make sure were well cleaned before putting them on my new turntable. You get your money’s worth with this product. I didn’t use the cleaning solution that comes with it as heavily recommended not to do so in the vinyl community but used MOFI One solution instead that had amazing reviews. I cleaned about 20 used records and all came out great! The drying rack is super handy, has little better quality materials and it packs up real nice which is why I chose it over the Spin Clean. No regrets!

  • A bit of a palaver to set it up, but up-and-running it was simple and really effective.

I was a bit worried that this would be a nightmare to use but it wasn't! I did practice on an old record first! It did an incredible job, I was really happy with the result. It did take me a little while to figure out how to angle the record into the drying rack so that it didn't potentially scratch the vinyl, but once figured out it was a very useful piece of kit. People have mentioned that it was difficult to transfer the liquid back into the bottle from the washer. I just tipped it into a measuring jug and then back into the bottle via the funnel. I also like the natural bristles they are soft and don't leave any evidence on the record. So glad I picked this one and not the more expensive one. Love the way it stores. It was a bit of a palaver to set it all up but once up and running washing the records was simple and really effective. Love this thing.
