  • Compact and you can use it while watching TV

I have all 3 of the different mini ellipticals around at the moment - fitdesk, skandika and this one. The fitdesk and captial sports ones are a lot stiffer to turn than the skandika even on their lowest settings. I am using the skandika one at the moment at my PC desk while I am typing away. This is my favourite of the three. The fitdesk was a lot more expensive but started making a horrible noise. ( Video of it on youTube ) The Capital Sports one does not make this annoying noise so I have this one downstairs to use while watching TV. The Skandika one did make a noise ( Video of it on youTube ) However it has stopped making this noise now. The Capital Sports one is the only one which has adjustable footplates so that you can use it standing. I have not tried this yet though because I have a full size Infiniti X45 elliptical for my main CV exercise. I can easily spend 4 hours or more sat using the skandika one. However with the other two I find that I am constantly viewing the screen to see how long I have been on them for. I usually only use them for 30-60mins on their lowest setting. My only other comments are that the fitdesk and capital sports ones have transport wheels to make it easier to move them around. The tension dial on the capital sports one is not as well engineered as the handles on the fitdesk or skandika. It is an older style dial which you seem to be able to turn around both ways for a long time without any guidance as to what setting you are on. You can feel it get really hard to turn after lots of rotations but I cannot easily see what setting it is supposed to be on. The last comparison I have is to my mini bike, a GymMate. This is completely silent compared to all three of the mini ellipticals. This also has a good range of resistance adjustment from easy to advanced user. I have been on that one for around 6 hours before while sat on the sofa.
