Good Camera, Bad Manufacturing
A good easy to use camera, no AA filter for very sharp images, easy menu settings to understand and some quirky lights on the body.......you can turn them off though. The main problem with this camera and other Pentax models is the aperture solenoid can fail at any time in it's lifespan causing dark images and the need for a costly repair. The aperture solenoid problem started in the K30 then the K50, carried over to the KS1 and KS2 and now people are finding it in the K70 too, this lets down the Pentax brand in a big way. I would not recommend this camera or any of the ones mentioned for the above reason.

Excellent to use, and not as heavy as older models.
I had a K-10 for quite a while, unfortunately it suffered a fall. I spotted this K-S1, and I've found it not only gives excellent results but, it's just as easy to use either in Auto or Program modes. A very, very good camera well recommended.

An amazing product.
A great, well priced camera that takes brilliant photos, the view window on the back is not touch screen and there is no external Mic port but as an entry level product it has amazing functionality, and an eye catching design,it is simple to use. I bought it as a gift for my girlfriend who is very happy with it and probably won't upgrade for a long while to come.

Very pleased with my first new DSLR in quite a few years, does everything it says on the box and more. Set up is quick and ready to start playing around and taking good quality pictures in minutes. We need more time to get better acquainted but I have a feeling it is going to be a good voyage of discovery. Loving the styling and at the price I think I have bagged myself a good all round bargain. Not too bulky and extremely easy to navigate your way through the settings. Ideal for beginners and enthusiasts alike. I Love my new Pentax KS-1.
