Works. But could have a tighter hold onto the motherboard. I used it for a i7-870 and it goes up to 75-80 degrees. As a aftermarket cooler you would like to see another 5 degrees lower than this. But as the price is so low i cant really complain. And this is an old hi-performance, hi-wattage cpu so :)

This is noisy because the fan always runs flat-out. This is because it has a cheaper, 3-wire fan rather than a 4-wire one, meaning that the fan speed cannot be controlled by normal/many PC motherboards. Unfortunately, this fact is hidden from view in the advert's photograph nor is it mentioned. This heat-sink can dissipate a lot of power when the PC's CPU is very busy but it often does not have to. In other words, it really needs a 4-wire fan with a proper 4-pin connector.

I didn't know what to expect having purchased a CPU Cooler from China for under £12, but I am extremely surprised & extremely impressed. I have a good bit of experience with the more mainstream brands of CPU Coolers having used a few from Cooler Master & a few more from Cryorig. To give a better idea of performance, I had a Cooler Master TX3 (regularly available for £15-20) cooling the exact same CPU (I5 2400) as this cooler & would see temperatures in the high 50s to low 60s during gaming. Having both gamed & stress tested (pinning the CPU usage at 100%) using this CPU Cooler I have not seen the temps touch 50C, topping out at 46C. Having said that, it does have its quirks. Once installed, it wiggles far more than any other cooler I have installed but it clearly doesn't affect performance, & the supplied fan is not PWM so it runs at maximum speed all the time. I would advise picking up a cheap Arctic 92mm PWM fan (£3-4) to install in this cooler, as I have done. This cooler looks great, cools great, & performs similarly if not better than something 2/3 times more expensive. This is a very well made 4 Heatpipe CPU Cooler Heat Sink for Intel & AMD, I have the top of the range AMD 6 core CPU and when it is working under load this is keeping my CPU cool at 40 degrees, has a very good fan and two radiators and works almost as good as my water cooling system, fits very firmly to the CPU, made as good as all the top brands for a fraction of the price, would highly recommend this product.

I purchased this as an experiment to see if a cheap cooler could do the job and i was very impressed. The cooler is well made and all the parts fit well. The only drawback i found was the surface finish of the contact area was quite rough. I smoothed this down with some 600grit then 1200grit sand paper before installation. This cooler is now installed on my i7 4770k running a modest overclock of 4.1ghz and the idle temps are around 36c and load temps in the early 40's. With this small amount of prep this £11 cooler is performing as well as a £40 cooler.
