Step back in time, into the era of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., with the movie 'Selma' on this Blu-ray/DVD combo. Dr. King, played by David Oyelowo, leads a campaign to get equal voting rights. As president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, he decided, early in 1965, that the group would focus its efforts on registering black voters in the South. Protesters attempting to march from Selma to Montgomery, the capital of Alabama, were attacked by local and state authorities. They finally completed the walk in three days in March under the protection of National Guard troops. The march became a civil rights victory when President Lyndon Johnson signed the Voting Rights Act of 1965.Product Identifiers

Heart-felt movie and in tune with the times; where divisiveness and hatred causes inhumanity. Dr. King's infidelity and wife's gradual forgiveness. Film not focused into all historical facts but OK.
