The Last of Us: Remastered brings one of the most critically acclaimed PlayStation 3 titles of all time to the PS4 with full 1080p visuals, higher-resolution character models, and improved shadows and lighting. Remastered also offers the "Left Behind" single-player chapter that details Ellie's backstory, eight new multiplayer maps from the "Abandoned" and "Reclaimed Territories" packs, and in-game commentary from the cast and creative director. Set 20 years after the Cordyceps parasitic fungus has mutated and begun infecting people, The Last of Us puts players in the role of an amoral black-market dealer named Joel as he attempts to usher a 14-year-old named Ellie across the country to a resistance group known as the Fireflies. The journey is extremely perilous, as gamers must escape quarantined zones where martial law has been enacted, avoid infected humans, scavengers, and bandits roaming cities that have been reclaimed by nature, and elude the military, who desperately want to return Ellie to her quarantined city. Developed by Naughty Dog, the company behind Crash Bandicoot, Jak and Daxter, and Uncharted, The Last of Us represents something of a departure from those action-oriented franchises. While guns and visceral melee combat do play a large role in the game, the post-apocalyptic environment means that ammo and weapons are quite scarce. On top of that, the fungus enters through one's eyes, rendering those infected either partially or fully blind, but giving them remarkable hearing ability, so loud noises are generally inadvisable. Therefore, survival is likely to hinge as much on the use of stealth and guile as the use of guns and knives. Several other characters join Joel and Ellie during their trek, but for the most part gamers will be controlling Joel while the AI handles Ellie. Players can attempt to make their way directly through each level, but those who explore will find a variety of collectibles and objects that can be combined and used as weapons or health kits. The world does not stop when Joel goes into his backpack to craft something, however, so gamers must plan ahead or make sure they are in a secure area before crafting. The Last of Us also features a fully formed multiplayer mode, complete with in-game currency and a perk system.Product Identifiers

Amazing game
I bought this game after watching my brother play a few scenes and had to get it myself. I have played the game 3 times including the inside game of Ellie. I am awed by the graphics, the tension and the compelling need to fight harder and think before you act. I started on easy mode and have progressed to hard mode which I do not usually delve into but next time im striving for survivor then hardcore. You feel the emotions as if you are living and breathing them and I cannot wait for the release of the 2nd game, I am at the edge of my seat for it. With stunning visuals on my PS4 the attention to detail is amazing, even in the characters. Just standing around they react and do things rather than just standing around. I constantly keep an eye on Ellie watching what she does and how she goes from very enclosed to open around Joel (the character you play as). Even though I have played it 3 times and I know what is going to happen at every close call im still awaiting the next move. 5star game, I only hope the 2nd one will be the same of top this one.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

It's supposedly the second best game for the PS4. It's so horrible to control. It feels like the game pad is broken. Another boring strong female character. The bloke saying 'ladies first!' Ho ho. So tedious. The baddies always rushing into you like they do. Are all games this bad now? I liked GTA 4. Never really got hooked with GTA 5. Didn't like uncharted. Yawn. Best game of its genre. Period.
Now replaying this on the PS4 to relive my PS3 experience. Despite being released in 2013 this game still shines alongside current generation offering. The graphics are superb as is the atmospheric soundtrack. Gameplay is strictly linear but this allows for compelling storytelling. Genuinely frightening at times and deeply affecting at others, this is one of the few games I have played where the story genuinely stands on its own two feet. Absolutely love this game, had it for ps3 and was in shock at it. The story, the gameplay, graphics, the music/sound is unreal also. I've decided to buy it again for ps4 and am hooked all over again. This game is one of those games that you do not want to stop playing. The graphics are good and the story is a good one too. When you have finished this game remember that there is another game included, although not as long. Still. Beautiful, harrowing and compelling
One of the most gripping, scary and compelling games I have ever played. It feels very cinematic and has a great storyline with well voice cast characters. The visuals are stunning and the gameplay is realistic and challenging. I never played this on PS3, but it does not feel like a remastered and recycled game, it feel like it was made for the PS4. I've recently discovered this game, after about 4 years of being out. Very hard at first, buy once you get a few good weapons you'll understand why it's so good. Best Story Game Ever!!!
I have played this game multiple times and it has one of the best Story modes ever. The multiplayer is fun and can provide hours of entertainment with friends or alone.
