First released on the PlayStation Vita, Toukiden: Kiwami is an updated port of the game for PlayStation 4. Not only does the game feature the full campaign from the previous version, but it also features additional levels that almost double the playing time. The graphics have also seen a massive overhaul, making it hard to believe it all started as a handheld game. The core gameplay remains the same, with players looking to defeat beasts many times their size through the use of tactics, powerful weapons, and lightning-fast reflexes. With each weapon having its own set of special moves, even veteran gamers won't master all of these weapons in a day. With the multiplayer mode, demon hunters can team up to face any of the game‘s giant beasts.

Great game, need improvement in some areas
Toukiden Kiwami is a monster world style material collecting and crafting game set in feudal Japan. Graphics, sound, voice acting, gameplay are all superb. But going through the campaign can get a bit repetitive and tedious if you play continuously. The game world is not friendly for repeat farming due to loading screen between each zone and no adventure mode where you can farm freely. When objective is met, you are forced to go back to town even if you want to keep farming. Also, in-game database does not tell you which monster drops what material so you have to look them up in resources outside the game. It's a game that is fun to play in short sessions, but not so much in long duration. The game also doesn't feel as rewarding in terms of loot drop and level progression compare to direct loot drop games like Diablo 3.
