good DIY kit - not for proffesional use

This piece of kit is good enough to sharpen standard saw blades with regular teeth. Only down point I've spotted right out of the box, is that the angle setting guides are next to useless. But with a bit of a hassle you can set it up nicely to required angles, as long as you’re not planing to re-shape the teeth. And with the practice it gets easier. Although beware! If you're planning on sharpening some proffesional blades such as festool ets. same as I did, this machine is not able to ratchet the blades with alternating teeth. You'll have to experiment to some degree, to get it done correctly. But again, it’s possible

    Works O.K. but poor quality

Good value for the money but needs lots of re-work and fettling to get good results. Diamond disk is too course and really needs to be about 400 grit. Once operating, works well and I sharpened 3 blades with it and got good results. But noticed that the front bearing is now making a noise. If this gets worse I'll have to send it back. In conclusion, it's a good concept and has the potential for to be a nice tool for the workshop, but poor out-of -the-box experience means you need to be adept at setup and tool making. Poor quality in some of the parts lets it down but then again it's not expensive, you get what you pay for. Drawbacks aside I'd recommend it.

  • Very nice well made tool

I had to go on to u tube to learn about the set up but once I got my head around it I found it to be easy to use. I sharpened 2 of my blades in minutes and was very impressed. This is a great addition to any diy or professional workshop

  • Instructions Rubbish bin them

Once you set this up correctly is a great bit of kit. I tried first with the supplied book, sorry that's a waste of time, I then went to you tube and found a great clip just enter Circular Saw Blade Sharpener 110W 230V, portable into the search box. watching this within 5 mins had the machine set and running. just one thing I did not like when setting right hand angel the head jams on the stop bar so remember to set the stop bat two teeth away.

  • Quick & easy

Easy to use & using the supplied diamond blade sharpens tungsten carbide tipped saw blades quickly. Only negative is that it only dresses the face of the blade & will not dress the tip hence 4 stars.

  • When it's converted..

Wanted to put this to use immediately but I could not. The unit was fitted with a 16 amp, two pin, euro plug. (I expect the slightly more expensive versions of the exact same machine were fitted with a UK three pin plug). Had to wait for a conversion plug before I could use it. (Not a major issue, and only just over £2). In use it does exactly what it says it will do. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. Have patience when setting up and it will do the job perfectly. It is not a professional tool, this is reflected in the price, but it will sharpen dull saw blades. I did my first two within an hour. With even budget saw blades around £20-30 You do not have to sharpen many to get you money back. If a saw blade starts to smell of burning now I will be rotating it's use with a sharpened one and not buying a new blade. If you want an analogy it's like being able to recharge Duracells.

  • Long Term saving

With the cost of sharpening and the lack of availability, I think the sharpener will pay for its self very quickly and encourage me to sharpen sooner!
