The BEST converter for Shimano road shifter /mtb rear deraileur match ups
I built a new drop-bar mountain bike, so matching up road shifters with a mountain rear derailleur was at hand. With older bikes, the ratio match-ups were not a big issue, but the newer equipment (Shimano 105 7000series shifters and XT M8000 rear derailleur) has larger shift ratio mis-matches. This Wolf Tooth Tanpan 11 makes that road/mtb mismatch completely disappear! Shifting is crisp, smooth and flawless. Installing the Tanpan was easy - just follow the exceptionally clear instructions. For my build, the Tanpan also made the cable run from the frame to the rear derailleur better for smoother shifting. If you're contemplating Shimano road shifter/mtb rear derailleur set-up, get the correct Tanpan and you'll be very pleased with how well it works!
