Great, easy to use, huge value for money - all good.
I'm a tech person but have rarely had to use PROM programmers (...and those were decades ago in the days when you needed a UV light for erase!). I had a couple of jobs to do needing reading & writing EEPROMs and having seen the youtube review on EEVBlog, and a friend / colleague also having mentioned this unit, I decided to dive in and give it a go. I was up and running in minutes, and it all worked flawlessly: read the data off an old chip, saved it as a file on PC, programmed it into a new chip, and proved it worked OK in the new design ... all in 20 mins or so from opening the box. Someone has worked very hard to get this product right, and it is right. Everything should be like this, but in my experience over half of products (cheap or expensive) are absolutely not! As to more complex funtionality I wouldn't really know, but the interface looks fairly comprehensive. Anyway for basic operations this box certainly does the job without wasting any time. Excellent programmer for the price....
This programmer for the price is brilliant. I wanted a programmer for the AT89C2051, but all mine would not do it. From a forum, they suggested this programmer, and i haven't looked back. I now use it instead of my PICKIT3, even though this is a fantastic item in itself, but it doesn't do the many devices the TL866A can do. But saying that it could not do a chip (PIC16F88), the device was not in the list. so I had to have the PICKIT3 do it for me.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
