  • Exquisite craftsmanship of the unseen geniuses.

This is surely one of the most beautifully produced books about 'behind the scenes' Haute Couture, focussing on the superb skills of the embroiderers and embellishers, looking closely at the glorious materials used in the ateliers of these maisons, giving the reader the opportunity to understand how the creations of the designers are brought to the catwalk thanks to the phenomenal talents of the unseen craftspeople in the workshops. (They remain unseen - no photos of these great people at work!) The illustrations are superb and the text is detailed, well-written and very readable.
