About this product

Product Information

After three years of living in America and with a divorce to get over, this Guinness World Record Holder [fastest time to visit all London Underground stations] goes on a road trip to all 48 mainland states of America, visiting towns and cities that share the names of places on the London Tube map Geoff blogged, took photos and videos as he went, and also continuously tweeted on his travels, which formed the back bone of notes for this book. An insight into rural and small-town America from an Englishman's perspective.

  • Excellent book full of wonderful storylines and details, but publishers please consider the actual reading of, with font size

A wonderful book, though I would expect nothing less from Geoff Marshall. Geoff is a bit like me; a Completeist. If there are 10 items in a series, then all ten need to be obtained, even though 7 may be rubbish - it is the set that counts for him and for me, too Geoff was living in America at the time (me too) and got married (me too) and it fell apart (me too). However, before returning home, he embarked on a marathon road trip across the USA, visiting all 48 lower states but at a town or village (or in some cases just a crossroads) with a name same as that on the London Underground. Why? Because it is a challenge, similar to the Tube Challenge he undertook, visiting all 275 stations in the shortest time, earning him a Guinnness World record (twice...) This book details a lot to heartbreak, but a lot of fantastic memories for him, too, as he visits small town America from sea to shining sea, with a lot of to inbetween. A fantastic book and I fully recommend it. BUT!! The book itself is printed in tiny typeface with the footnotes even tinier. I need a magnifying glass to read it to its full and I have 20/20 vision. One for the publishers to take note of. PLEASE release this as an ebook. it would actually be easier to read. And it is a kind of book than can be read over and over again...
