  • The truth behind the Little House books

This is a brilliant book. Laura Ingalls Wilder first wrote Pioneer Girl as a memoir of her early years, as life had changed so much in her lifetime. The Little House books were based on this original text, but expanded and slightly embroidered. It is fascinating to read the true story with all the footnotes tying in historic background and links to the children's books. Highly recommended.
