This is a high end piece of router technology. It runs fast and handles a lot of users. I guess it's one drawback is it's size. But if you want excessive performance, that may not trouble you. I had to fiddle a little to get on the internet, not because of the EA9500, but because my cable modem wanted an extra reset before it would connect us. Once that happened, the router went to town and was not difficult to connect to all my family computers, cells and printers. It is a little faster than my old router (no slouch, an EA9200), but the EA9500 seems friendlier about doing what you want. Maybe that's because I went through the eccentricities of AC routers with the last one and knew better what to do this time. But things went pretty smoothly with this big unit, and once connected, things seem to run a little more reliably. It could be my old router had developed some problems. But the change was welcome on my desktop where I use a no-name external USB3 ac wifi adapter. No more disconnects, which was getting really old with the older router. It just hooks me up at 866.7 Mbps and runs there. I could hook up at that speed sometimes with the old router, but it would drop off, or disconnect. Two negatives: I called the 24/7 customer assistance and was repeatedly disconnected after a few rings. I didn't have to get help, but had questions about getting hooked up to the cloud access to the router, so no harm done. Still, if you say 24/7, it disappoints to get no answer. The second negative doesn't bother me much, but my wife may complain. The EA9500, sometimes called 'a spider', ain't just bristling with antennas, it's Really Really Big. My cable modem is in the living/tv area and I had to set up a tv tray for the router beside the table the tv is on. It doesn't really match the primitive old doctor's table and the captains chest nearby. And that's fine with me. I'll just try to be real nice to my wife for awhile. I really like have the hottest router on the block. I'm pretty sure this thing is just that. Someone said it's overkill for most people. I agree. But I like it anyway!Read full review

worked for 2 days then stopped. Now it is constantly resetting over and over and never does anything. Basically a big heavy black brick with flashing lights. Linksys refuses to honor the refurbished warranty, since I am not the direct purchaser of the router. This is not my first time to buy refurbs on eBay, but it is the first time, the company doing the refurb doesn't stand behind their work.

I've been using a Google WiFi System for about a year now and while the coverage was great it didn't handle high loads so well. I'm a gamer and when my family was trying to use the network at the same time as me there were issues for me with packet loss. With this new router it's amazing 🙌 at this price you can't beat it. 249.99 for a 399.99 MSRP product is great. It is refurbished from Linksys sealed in the package and nicely packaged. No fancy graphics on the box but who needs all that anyway. I'm not sure if this seller is TRULY Linksys themselves buttt they have a high reputation and I do think the product they are selling is truly factory refurbished. Signal strength seems to be great and setup was easy. It has a seemingly strong amount of processing capability and has lots of features.Read full review

The Linksys EA9500 is easily one of the top routers for 2017. Marked as "AC5400" to promote its maximum 5332 MB/s wireless speed (which exists in a vacuum and should never be expected), the EA9500 is still a high-quality and worthwhile investment. Yes, it is expensive. I lucked out personally by purchasing a "for parts" unit that simply needed to be factory reset, but the features-to-price-tag is still reasonable at list. You may not need a router of this magnitude. I personally live in a split-level, 2800 sqft home with the router positioned on the low level near one corner of the home. In order to reach the other, high "top" corner, my ASUS AC1900 simply didn't cut it. This one does, and exceeds my needs. My house is very bandwidth-heavy, with 2 streaming TVs, 2 smartphones, and 4 (yes, 4! I have a family of 6!) tablets, to go with my ethernet-wired gaming rig, a Samsung SmartThings door and lighting setup, and Xfinity security system. Needless to say, a router is important, as much as having a good router is even more important. The EA9500 seems to handle the processing task of multiple wireless devices in stride, never having any issues pushing streaming movies through a powerline network to one TV while supporting our smartphone needs. In a word, it's great. This device is highly recommended if you are as high-traffic as we are with a spread-out home layout. Unless you can center your WiFi router, you will need either a multi-antenna setup or a strong router like the EA9500 to keep signal around your home.Read full review

I got mine as a refurbished unit from linksys. It was 100.00 cheaper that it would have been brand new. It arrived fast, even the Technion that installed my Internet was impressed. Its Fast, Secure, Reliable. It runs my entire house and I can connect all the way to the end of my driveway, which is 3 cars long and has a house in front of my house. Lots of security features, even has its own speed test built in to the router.

Linksys EA9500 Max Needed to replace an old existing router with a new one. Coming across several options, the Linksys EA9500 Max was recommended by a variety of websites as one of the best for the money. Well, it was a good decision made and decided to purchase one. Pros: Nice unit, very impressed with the setup menu, very fast when compared to other switches previously owned, and easy to connect. Cons: None observed. Very pleased with this item.

This WiFi router was all I needed in our house. Previously, I used a Costco router plus a range extender. I now no longer need the range extender as the whole house is covered with great speeds all over. I strongly recommend this router.

I bought this unit to replace a dual band AC1900 router and I am very pleased. The old router was experiencing random wi-fi drops that have all been eliminated by this EA9500. I got this at a great price and would consider this even it I had to pay full retail. I am very happy I didn't have to :) My network setup has all the hardware in my basement of a quad level home and the performance is fantastic. The router setup was very easy. It has an advanced graphical user interface. It's in great condition for a refurbished unit.

EA9500 BOX was suppose to be refurbished, HOWEVER, get box and wifi network does not come up as default Linksys0522 or whatever default page is suppose to be, CAME UP with "BIG RED WIFI", GUESS what it was returned because wifi periodically just stops sending signals and local network disconnects and after 2 days of resetting and configuring, it crashed and kept rebooting itself after I had 20 devices connected to network.... SEEMED awesome when sending wifi signal out, problem it was defected and returned but they did not fix or even look at box!.
