Don’t be tempted by cheap alternatives, spend the money and replace the blade before it’s blunt. Soft wood only.
I do rate the worx xl saw as a general purpose go to for cutting after initially trying to get by on a jigsaw (idiot!) I think soon I may be tempted to get a saw that runs on a track/guide, I want this mainly for boards and now wonder if a 45mm cut depth is useful. in time this saws blade will let you know its blunt as the cut varies increasingly front to back, put down the line on both and you’ll soon see, mine is wavering by 4mm at times now and I find I’m planing the cut straight every time, total pain, it burns and you notice the saw foot is running near diagonal to the cut trying to hold the line, go as slow/careful as you like ..nothing works!(worx??) don’t be like me and swap it before getting in this mess. I have tried the more expensive multi purpose blade and that’s good for old timber that may have hidden surprises but it is a lot thicker and more effort to progress. On this subject if you are up against anything other than relatively soft wood…do not be tempted to try this blade..laminate blunts it fast, aluminium will bust the teeth off, you can ruin it in just a few cuts, so get the right blade. I have tried cheap alternatives to worx and the same applies as the multi purpose..they are cheaper but you can see the tip and body of the blade is thicker and harder to move, they cause the saw to get very hot on long cuts, obviously these companies lack the technology to produce really thin blades so I figure for the extra money (yes the worx is often double price) for the number of cuts you’re going to do…it is worth it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Poor design.
The carbide tips are too narrow so they do not give enough clearance for the body of the saw blade and this causes the saw blade to overheat. To my mind the blade would benifit from holes around it to keep the blade cooler.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
