I've gone through several of these tins (not far off a dozen), whilst restoring my motorcycle...a couple of years ago, and just the last few weeks. I've used it to spray the frame, various brackets, footrest hangers and so on. It is very easy to use, very forgiving (no spits etc.), and really does give a very high gloss finish, even if you are no expert. It gives a good thickness, even from the first coat. In fact, it is very possible to get away with only one coat, depending on the item you are spraying. I have worked as a powder coater for over 10 years, and one product we use is a RAL 9005 full gloss, which gives exceptional results. This Plastikote spray is virtually indistinguishable from the powder coat, even to the trained and experienced eye, it really is that good. On my bike, I powder coated the rear footrest hangers, but had to spray the front ones, as there were plastic/rubber bushes that could not be easily removed, and would not have survived the stoving process. But despite being quite close together on the bike, you cannot tell the difference. The only gripe I have about this product (and it's a minor one) is that it takes a very long time to fully cure, even in warm conditions...I did the first lot of work on my bike during a quite warm spell a couple of summers ago, but it was still “thumbnail” after a few weeks. But as long as what you are spraying does not have to come into contact with anything as such, it isn't a problem. In summary, I definitely recommend this product, and I can't imagine finding a rattle can that is a better quality gloss than this one, especially at this price.Read full review

I had some sanded down wooden speaker enclosures I wanted to paint and I thought this would be ideal, this paint does not state that it needs any kind of undercoat before it is applied. It DOES NOT cover or fill any small scratches made by the sanding with 3 coats and left a really horrible tacky to the touch finish. It also does not state if it can be applied on top of any existing paint or if any other paint can be applied on top of it so I'm a bit stuck now really. Should have just spent my money on a normal pot. This review is not to put people off buying it as I think it could be great for certain things but for what I need it for I would need at least another two cans to do the job I thought 1 can could do and so I will go and buy a pot of gloss and save myself Some money. Just think twice guys if you have used a brush to paint it before use a brush to paint it again and don't try this stuff. If your painting a large object do 10 coats instead of 3 perhaps you may have a better finish than what I did. I must admit it is a pleasure to use, the coat is even and you can be quite accurate with the nossle. Just not the one for this job. Perhaps the matt would have been better?Read full review

Excellent product. The new style spray head is superb. Twist the top and use following a good shake of the can. No need to invert the can at the end to clear the nozzle; it seems to self clean. If spraying plastic use the undercoat first and allow 24 hours to dry preferably in a warm environment. As with all sprays, use sparingly and do not use so much in any one time so that the paint runs. If necessary do 2 even 3 coats. Very good coverage for a small tin. Does look good too. If you get a hair/small fly in the paint, probably best to wait until it is dry before rubbing down/polishing etc. Recommended.

Great product, excellent coverage, smooth gloss finish, one can will easily cover an alloy wheel, would really recommend, my spare wheel now looks like it's powder coated but at a fraction of the cost.
