    Jar & bottle opener

Excellent value for money. My mother in law says that she would be lost without it as she has arthritis in both hands and has struggled to open jam jars as she loves strawberry jam. X

  • Most critical review

Far too stiff and doesn’t grip

This opener looks exactly like the image but it is not very flexible. It would not fit around the cap of a Lucozade bottle, a jar of honey or a standard jam jar. Even when I found a bottle that it did fit it is so stiff that it just slid around and didn’t grip. As an OAD I found it next to impossible to use. Sorry but it is of no use to me.his opener looks exactly like the image but it is not very flexable. It would not fit around the cap of a Lucosade bottle, a jar of honey or a standard jam jar.

  • Not the right size for my jars

The bottle opener has three sizes but it’s very difficult to fit it over the bottle! Also, most of the jars I had, beetroot, jam, marmalade, chutney....which are all regular items the biggest size doesn’t fit, it’s too small and I’ve nearly cut my fingers trying to stretch it over the jar!

  • Think outside of the box! Rofl

I’m disabled and have terrible rouble with my hands with arthritis these days. I have a shower that has a knob to turn it o. About the size of a medium jar and when i found one morning that I couldn’t turn it on i was at a complete loss as to what to do. I suddenly remembered my jar opener downstairs in the kitchen and dashed (as quickly as one can on a stairlift) to retrieve it and try it on my shower knob. It fitted like a glove and i found i could turn it on and off with little trouble at all for the first time in several years so I ordered myself another one straight away and i leave it attached to my shower knob all the time now. Sometimes you just have to think outside of the box and utilise tools that are made for other things!

  • Handy tool

Great value for money. Ideal if you have any sort of weakness in your hands as this makes short work of opening those stubborn jars and bottles.

  • Grip jar opener

I have tried the grip jar opener and it just slided round the lid. The product looks like the inside is cut to groves so that it grips the lid, not so, just goes round. does not cost a fortune to buy but save your money.

  • Poor grip.

The "rubber" material seems to hard and does not grip bottle cap etc without applying lots of squeeze grip. Which defeats the object of this item for someone who can't grip a bottle cap and needs help.

  • Brilliant

Makes opening bottles and jars possible with little effort, even though I have carpel tunnel syndrome. A real aid to Independence
