TACLIGHT T1100 - GREAT LIGHT OUTPUT BUT A FEW NIGGLES
A very well-designed and manufactured utility torch. The excellent build quality of the torch is let down only by the AAA battery caddy not being of good quality. However, I'll only be using them as a backup for when the rechargeable 18650 battery is depleted. That said, the 18650 holds charge well and in combination with the Cree LED gives excellent light output for use indoors and outdoors. The ABS protective travel case is durable and should offer good protection to the torch, and even repels water. However, it is too bulky for EDC and a belt pouch would have been more useful. My major criticism though is that given that the Taclight T1100 has been on sale throughout the UK and Europe for several years, the mains charger supplied has only a North American two-pin plug and no adaptor supplied for use across Europe. Fortunately, I have my own plug adaptor and also a dedicated L-ion 18650 smart charger. In conclusion, this is a robust, lightweight, pocket-sized torch with more than adequate light output. Unfortunately, Taclight as a company is no more though Bell + Howell make their own versions of this torch.
