A smart single-slot toaster
A slim (14cm) space-saving toaster with a single slot capable of taking two large square slices of bread. It is easy to use and to keep clean, and the controls are straight forward. It is able to toast frozen slices and also to warm without burning slices that have gone cold. Browning is acceptably but not pefectly even and its glass front allows you to monitor how brown the slice is. Lights indicate progress through the toasting period that has been set. Its wide slot (3.8cm) can take thicker items. A nice feature is the attached plastic tongs for retrieving small items without burning yourself or damaging the elements, although the toaster does eject quite high. The flat top surface also allows items to be placed to heat and keep warm. This toaster is smart-looking and the glass side allows you to see the progress of the toast. However the size only allows one slice of bread at a time otherwise the top third does not get toasted if you try to toast two slices at once. Disappointing. Versatile and Good Looking!
I wanted a toaster that I could use for non-standard bread slices as I make a lot of soda bread. So the criteria was for variable width (thick and thin) but also length. This toaster is great. I can toast two slices at a time, see through the glass side how they are browning and extend the toasting time if I wish. It also comes with a little pair of tongs which click onto one end of the toaster and these are really useful.
